What kind of RV body do you most want? Strong and durable, first-class sound insulation, thermal insulation, fashionable shape, lightweight, high strength… In order to achieve such an effect, we must use a body structure – a sandwich composite body structure.
What is a Sandwich Structure?
The sandwich structure is a special type of composite material structure, which is composed of two thin, strong and rigid facings on both sides of a lightweight and relatively thick core material. The sandwich structure has typical characteristics of lightweight, high rigidity and high strength. The RV body is composed of three materials: “external sheet + interlayer material + internal sheet”, which is a sandwich body structure. The exterior sheets are made of high-strength, lightweight fiberglass.
The fiberglass material makes the RV more calm in the face of severe weather such as hail, rain, snow, wind and sand. When the body encounters minor scratches, it can be restored with simple waxing and polishing. The core material is XPS (extruded polystyrene), PU (polyurethane), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), etc., which bear important functions of heat insulation and sound insulation.
Four Advantages of The Sandwich Structure Body
- The body of the sandwich structure has good rigidity and high hardness, which can resist a certain intensity of impact without damaging the body, and at the same time buffer some impact force, reduce collision damage and greatly improve safety.
- Lightweight body, on the premise of ensuring the high strength and safety performance of the body, reduces the body’s total weight as much as possible, to reduce fuel consumption, reduce emissions and improve driving performance.
- Thanks to the thermal insulation properties of the foam core material, excellent thermal insulation performance can effectively ensure that the internal temperature of the RV is in a comfortable range whether it is severe cold or hot summer.
- Waterproof performance, the foam core material is a closed-cell material, basically does not absorb water, and water vapor cannot enter the completely sealed RV body.
