The core material used on the honeycomb core RV floor is PP honeycomb, which is usually combined with FRP sheet. For greater strength, it uses FRP, a new type of continuous glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRT sheet). There are many advantages to using composite honeycomb panels as floors.
Advantages of Honeycomb Core RV Floors
- Honeycomb composite panels are very strong: the sandwich structure makes their tensile strength far exceed that of foam panel and wood of the same thickness.
- It’s light: the porous structure makes it much lighter than foam panel and wood of same thickness.
- It’s easy to machine and install: honeycomb panels are easy to cut, and since honeycomb panels don’t have embedded reinforcement like foam panels, you can cut them to your floor’s shape from a single piece of honeycomb panel.

- Upper Reinforced Layer: CFRT Sheet
- Core: PP honeycomb
- Bottom Reinforced Layer: CFRT Sheet
